♥하루 94 - Raju, Jalan Gasing @ PJ

Warning: food post food post!! droool alert!

Hello y'all! How was your week? I must say mine only consisted of mostly add math/physics, and is still not making any obvious progress.. ( ̄^ ̄) Srsly mad stressed for the upcoming end-year exam and I don't know what else can I do (besides studying, duh hahahah) other than putting everything unto daddy God father's hands. Talentime dance finals are tomorrow and also happy anniversary SMKKK! ╰( ̄▽ ̄)╭ May you achieve and improve in the future (esp your toilets pls)

So awhile ago on a very fine saturday afternoon aunty Irene brought us to Raju's which is situated just off Jalan Gasing next to La Salle secondary school for brunch after bible class. The place is extremely well-known for their crunchy roti canai (apparently they won champion in a roti canai competition *oooh*) and banana leaf rice so I'm really looking forward to trying them out, furthermore I had another of those authentic indian food cravings for curry and more curry. (like always) ㅎㅅㅎ

It was abit past mid noon when we arrived but thank God it was less packed so we found a spot easily.

Does anybody has any idea what is this? Sweet corn? Rolled up roti canai? ಠ_ಠ

And there's this wall painted with an old traditional chinese mural of waterfall and trees and mountains.

Absolutely looove the shady under-the-trees seatings they have! It's very cooling and also adds leaves to your meal hahahah. Thumbs up for the ambience there! ♡^▽^♡

Their waiters are all in very neat uniforms and are ever-ready to smile for the camera. (゚´▽`゚) They're also really friendly too! However, service is slower and less efficient compared to Kanna curry house.

#1 Banana leaf

#2 Choose your favourite freshly deep fried food dim-sum styled/ at their pick & choose station (pre-marinated/ various type of fish, squid, chicken, prawn, etc) where there will be someone to help you deep fry your stuff and you can eat it steaming hot! A plus point cause if they cook it fresh for you, it would be more hygienic (*⌒∇⌒*)

#2 ½ Eat it if you're too hungry hahahah

#3 Serving of three assortment of vegetables

#4 Rice

#5 Papadum!! (◉◞౪◟◉)

#6 And lastly banjirkan your rice with fish curry, chicken curry or dhall.

And dig in! ヾ(゚∀゚*)ノ彡 Well call me a jakun but when I was told that the vegetables, rice, papadum and curry is available unlimited flow, it's like the most amazing news I've ever heard. I mean, Rm 5.50 for a banana leaf set and everything is refill-able? I admit I started plotting schemes involving containers and tupperwares in bags. HAHAHAHA.

The very well known roti canai! I've no idea how to judge but I guess it's pretty yummy considering reviews from alot of blogs and the price it is selling at.╭(╯ε╰)╮ And knowing I'm not much help, here I quote kuanfoodfetish.com :

"True to Raju’s reputation for awesome roti canai, I was in heaven. The roti canai here is fluffy yet the texture is thin. It’s not greasy at all, a good sigh that it’s fresh. Fragrant with a tangy sweetness.
Pour some curry ikan (fish curry) onto it and maybe a laddle of dal and voila, finger licking goodness!"

There's also indian vendor selling delicious dry snacks from his motorcycle outside Raju and I've been hearing alot about his amazing kacang putih! (*⌒∇⌒*)

#Foreveralone noone to selca with, so I found izumi, who still looks really cute even when she sleeps ㅎㅅㅎ hahahah!

then sukkie came along! #LifeTimeAchievement (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Honestly saying, mamak stalls and curry houses are probably my most favourite restaurants ever considering their food forever always gerenti satisfaction and moreover, cheap. Can have a full meal with Rm 5 only! *kiam siap mode: ON* I cannot verbally describe how much I love indian food, and one point is that I can stay alive with only rice and curry everyday! ಠ_ಠ (Well I think I can hahahah yum yumm) Going to bug big bro to bring me back to raju/kanna curry house someday eeeee cravings cravings! ╰( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Thank you aunty Irene for bringing us there! It was a wonderful meal ;)

goodnight!

♥하루 92 - TJ Haus, ss18 Subang

Hello! I'm very excited to post this update! Obviously cause who doesn't look forward getting know to more places with good food and soothing ambience in a cosy little hidden restaurant? In case you didn't notice, I'm trying to make the location sound very mysterious! ಠ_ಠ (Asked Joyceet for more adjectives and she's like "nice." ☹ #facepalm)

Anyway the place I'm going to introduce to y'all is called TJ Haus, a very homely casual dining restaurant focusing on a wide range of european cuisine (pork-free) located at Subang SS 18. It's kind of hard to spot the place at first because it's at the 1st floor, not the ground floor. (more detailed info at the end of post!) I honestly have to thank both izumi and sukkie's parents so much for bringing us there and treating us for dinner. ヾ(。・ヮ・。)ノ It was a wonderful night without doubt and everyone had such a good time with each other, filling our bellies with amazing food and laughing over conversations. (*⌒∇⌒*)

Entrance stairway! I'm pretty curious about what is TJ Haus abbreviated for so I googled it. And apparently TJ stands for Thomas & Jeffrey. Thomas is the german chef and Jeffrey is the partner wherelse "Haus" means house or home. Aunty Irene said that we have to make reservations beforehand for tables and even when we're eating, people kept streaming in as others finish their meals.

Our drinks is the mixture of beer and sprite. Don't worry, the taste of beer is only slight and overall it tastes exactly like very refreshing shandy. ヽ(´―`)ノ

While the adults had beer instead. That's sukkie's mom and izumi's mom. I know, they look so young and pretty *insecured* (´・_・`) hahahah!

There's beautiful ornaments in every corner of the place. Look at that vintage old-style gramophone and angel carvings! ヾ(゚∀゚*)ノ彡

Stepped into the restaurant and fell in love instantly with the interior settings. I really, really like how warm and cosy it felt. Those incandescent lightings and pots of flowers everywhere, salivating aroma of grilled and barbecued food, merry buzz of chatter and laughter all packed in one small homely room. ヾ(。・ヮ・。)ノ

Couldn't help taking photos of the decorations all over the restaurant. They're so vintage and gorgeousss ლ(́ಢ.◞౪◟ಢ‵ლ) Look at that old time railway station clock and memorable photographs in belonging of the owners on the mint green walls. \☺/ Ok ok now to the most important point! *jeng jeng jengggg* Fooood!!

Cream of mushroom soup.

Lamb shank (゚´▽`゚) Loads of bloggers and commentators gave good feedback for this signature dish! Served with ratatouille and mashed potatoes.

I'm not sure but I'm guessing this is crispy duck (german style), apparently also a signature dish. Duck is grilled in orange sauce and served with red cabbage (looks like beetroot!) and boiled potatoes.

Jacky says this is maryland fish/ fish and chips salad.

Cordon bleu chicken.

Ribeye steak. "Served with shaved potatoes and cheese, mixed veggie and weird italian style bbq sauce. Steak is overcooked." -Jacky

HAHA you don't have to try guess whose order is this HAHAHA. Pasta a la cabonara, served with bacon beef strips. Creamy enough, it was noms!  ♡^▽^♡

Cheese baked prawns served with fettucini and salad. (no idea of its name)

Braised lamb.

Walt Disney. Hahaha daniel's kids meal. Initially he wanted a dish called "Pink panther" (he loves that show) but it was nuggets and fries so.. no. LOL

The adults! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

After dinner, sukkie, izumi and me walked around and went to check out the balcony area to improve digestion (super full!) and.. I fell in love all over again ╰( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Just look at those fairy lights which makes everything look so magical! Romantic maximum ambience and has ceiling fans so its not very stuffy considering that it is outdoors. You won't even notice the busy flyover right opposite you hahah.

HAHAHA izumi looks very cute here pls ignore me tq. Our super gold fish/bird face power! ヾ(゚∀゚*)ノ彡

Dessert time! ♪♬ Bavarian vanilla creme custard served with whipped cream and fruits.

Chocolate mousse which nobody wants to eat cause it tastes abit strange like nin jiom pei pa kou. Izumi and I had it all to ourselves hahahah!

Signature super smooth and light home made cheese cake, a must-try

Do you notice that this ceiling light look like the process of crenation of red blood cells after exposure to hypertonic solution *ahem* form 4 students? ಠ_ಠ HAHAHAHA

Group picture! (´・ω・`)

It was a truly wonderful merdeka night and I thank God for this abundant blessing! ╭(╯ε╰)╮ Izumi, sukkie and I dug out loads of lame yet funny primary school jokes which I'm going to make sure I remember 20 years later hahahahah laughed till our tummy hurts. Anyway, do try out TJ Haus! It's an amazing place to have occasional lovely romantic dinners. Here's the details:
